Direct veneers are made from composite resin and are placed directly on your teeth by your dentist. This is a very labor-intensive appointment and requires removal of more tooth structure. Typically direct-bonded composite veneers are not as aesthetic and durable as the indirect porcelain or resin restorations.
Indirect Veneers are fabricated by a dental laboratory from either ceramic (porcelain) or resin. Both are strong and long lasting, and each has its own pros and cons. Porcelain veneers hold up better against stains and resemble natural teeth. Resin veneers are thinner and don’t require as much tooth surface to be removed. Either type of indirect veneer requires two visits.
